Fabricator - Full Time Perm Position

The Role:

Join our skilled team at Bega on the Sapphire Coast of NSW, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring our production equipment is safe, reliable and ready to support daily manufacturing operations. Working in a collaborative and safety-focused environment, you’ll contribute to continuous improvement, operational readiness and the overall performance of our site. 

Our Ridge street site in Bega NSW services many customers in a contract manufacturing capacity focused on packaged, natural and processed cheeses. These include the renowned Bega cheese blocks- mild, tasty, and vintage, shredded and cubed cheese, natural slices, parmesan, colby, mozzarella and burger cheese slices.

Responsibilities: 

• Reading and understanding engineering drawings to determine project specifications and material requirements.

• Consulting with maintenance teams and operations teams to develop designs.

• Creating custom parts, brackets, jigs, and fixtures to aid in production or maintenance activities, often for specific, non-mass-produced requirements.

• Manufacturing parts to hygienic design standards and other Australian standards.

• Assisting with the installation, modification, and commissioning of new machinery and systems within the factory layout.

• Accurately record maintenance activities in the CMMS and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

About You 

• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking/Welding) or equivalent

• Proven experience as a maintenance fabricator/boilermaker, preferably in the dairy or food processing industry.

• Strong technical capability to use CMMS software and computer aided drawing (CAD)

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals

• Forklift licence, confined space entry, and working at heights certifications are desirable.

• Experience in food manufacturing and compliance requirements (HACCP & GMP desirable)

• Mon-Fri Dayshift – weekend overtime as required
